Adventures in Fiction
I had a great time catching up with some old friends and meeting new ones at Fresh Fiction's "Adventures in Fiction” yesterday in Addison. Thanks to everyone who came out to the signing! There were some amazing authors there and awesome book swag as well. I particularly enjoyed visiting with fellow Avon author Lorraine Heath.
Booksignings have certainly evolved with the advent of ebooks and the changes in the industry are exciting to see. Saturday I signed more leather ereader covers and canvas book bags than print books. It was fascinating to hear which format folks preferred. (I found preferences evenly split at this event between print and ebooks.) Still, it was remarkable to sit in a room and think “everyone here loves to read as much as I do.”
That’s pretty unusual these days when you hear so much about our "short attention spans." This seemed to sum it up, no matter how you prefer to read.
